I really hate political punditry

Stipulated: Jon Stewart is not objective. And I'm sure similar clips could be found for liberal pundits.

But the juxtapositions in these clips are just flat out amazing.

This is one reason politics, as normally practiced by both sides, makes me sick.

I feel like traditional Republicans used to be able to think for themselves. Now they're taken hostage by the loud-mouthed, uneducated pundits who just parrot the same small-minded party line.

I'd say that's par for the course in every partisan direction. Jefferson had it right, even if he didn't live up to his own admonishments regarding partisanship and even if partisanship is a semblance of human nature. Of course Utopia is Utopia and reality is reality.

And well it should. Of course, 18th and early 19th century American politicking was much more personal and venomous. Eh. Wanna run with the big dogs? Prepare to get bit. ;~)

LF: i know what you mean. does that apply to Dems, too?

Jay: yes. the reality sure is ugly right now!

GSR: right. i still don't have to like it ;-)

The clip does a great job of highlighting that with which most of us are annoyed with, and I agree, the dems are guilty of the same thing. K. Olbermann is probably a treasure trove on this.

I wish I could say politics in this country could be otherwise, but given how effective these tactics are, I suspect that will never happen.

It is stunning BS...maybe it's me, but I see more of this out of the Republicans...someone go ahead and me cross that...unless I'm right.

Following up on my last comment...I see more of this out of Republicans, AND not just Jon Stewart on this post....really, I think I'm right on this. Extreme BS ("BS" defined as wildly self serving commentary) is not exclusively, but mainly a Republican tactic...no?

It always make me wonder if the people making the statements can see the hypocrisy and don't care or if they are simply blinded by whatever...power, fame, belief, ego. My guess is that it's a bit of both for most. Frustrating, sad, disappointing, but not surprising.

NYkrinDC: yep, Olbermann's a good bet. my friend, LF (above), also passed an offensive one on from Bill Maher.

Jim: since i vote Dem, i'm inclined to agree, but i doubt i'm being objective.

Danielle: i know! how do they live with themselves?
