Deathly legos

+ Christine's trying to steal responsible moments to read Deathly Hallows. She was waiting when the library opened at 8:30 this morning, and no one else was there. She's giving me a few updates, because I find the whole JKR process too annoying to really want it to unfold. I'm the guy who's looking for spoilers.

+ Ken's let's fly with a critique I really agree with: I can call them 'legos' if I want to!

My comment....any moment spent reading this book is a responsible one. I was sucked in from 12:01 am with a brief sleeping break to about the time I left the message on your machine. I was crying from about page 500 on. When I reread later this week, I may find things that aren't so satisfying. For now, it's absolutely brilliant.

I have heard fantastic reviews on this last installment! I wonder if I could get away with reading it w/understanding if I have missed other parts of the story. That assumes understanding the basics.

K: glad you liked it. it seems pretty good, from what i've heard and read.

i read the Wikipedia article, and that was a good start for me. will probably skim it if Christine ever lets it out of her sight (Jo's writing is too annoying for me to read every word)

J: i wouldn't recommend starting in the middle. pick up the first one. if you like it (and i think you might), try going forward...

Really, really enjoyed the second half of the book. The first half was painful - both tedious and sad. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a place to start in the HP series. If one doesn't have time to read the books, I highly recommend listening to the audio books read by Jim Dale. Brilliant from first to last.

Too late, I bought the last book...and I'm getting by with a Potter Glossary I found on line...so far, I like it fine...it's a challenge to pick up the lingo, etc. I also know enough of the story from seeing some of the movies.
