Bad sports life

Sure, the Cubs won the Central, but now they're down to single-game elimination. The Hawks and Vikings are up to their old tricks. My fantasy football team is absolutely horrible (leveraged on Chargers and Saints) with no wins and the fewest points in the league by far.

All I'm left with is my bandwagon Patriots and marginally adopted SC Gamecocks.

I'd rather one of my real teams do something.

Or you could jump on my Titans/Colts bandwagon.....

As a sidenote: I grew up in Chicagoland (downtown and suburbs) from ages 4-18, and I'd like to declare here on my friend's blog that the Cubs deserve no deference. No, I'm not a secret-southsider Sox fan - I don't care either way. Who could? I grew up when Jordan was leading the Bulls to repeat championships and he proved you could be from Chicago and be the best - repeatedly. I take care, as my roots are still there, when I say Chicagoans pulling for the Cubs do nothing but perpetuate second-city syndrome. Get teams that are good, consistantly; don't apologize for mediocrity!

thanks for the offers, Jim and D, but no ;-)

G: glad the Pack lost ;-)

B: you're right, of course. once saw a comment in SI that as long as Wrigley is so awesome the Cubs won't be a contender. this year was an improvement, though.
